History of The Rutlands

The property was built in approximately 1870 as a domestic residence.

At some time, probably early 1900s it's use was changed to a guest house.

The photos represent a picture hanging in the hotel which we believe is dated sometime in the 1930's.  The 1939 Register names a Mrs Fawkes as running the establishment prior to WWII. 

We are currently refurbishing the original staircase.
